Learn More →The Midtown YMCA turned an ordinary corner into an esports lounge. We handled the backlit logo sign and the full wall wrap that gives the space its identity.
The Midtown YMCA in Montgomery needed their new esports lounge to feel like an esports lounge — not a repurposed hallway with some computers in it. Two pieces did the heavy lifting: a backlit dimensional logo inside the lounge, and a wall wrap that takes over the entire entry corner.
Inside the lounge, the Y logo is built as dimensional lettering mounted off the wall, with RGB LED backlighting washing the block behind it. Because the light is behind the letters rather than in them, the face of the logo stays clean and solid while the wall around it does the glowing — the effect shifts as the room's lighting changes, so the sign never looks like the same sign twice.
That mattered here. An esports room lives in the dark. A standard printed sign disappears the moment you kill the overheads; this one gets better. It reads clearly against a painted cinder block wall that would swallow almost anything else.
The Y stayed open through the install. Ladders, squeegees, and heat guns had to share a lobby with members coming and going, which shaped how the job was staged — panels hung in sequence, tools staged tight, and the floor cleared between sessions.
